One of my passions is supporting new mums in the early days after baby’s arrival.
I think when I was a young mum living a distance from family I felt quite isolated and hadn’t a clue what I was doing. I would have given anything to have someone come and reassure me that I was doing ok and baby was not in mortal danger!
It was such an honour and a privilege to spend time with my daughters in the first few weeks after their babies were born helping with the settling in and the getting to know themselves as mothers.
I trained in 2018 as a postpartum doula and offer some postpartum support through Doula Care Ireland, an amazing agency that care deeply for women and families. It is such valuable and enjoyable work.
